Travelling to Ephesus
Ephesus preserves some of Türkiye’s most remarkable Greco-Roman remains, such as the Library of Celsus and the Great Theatre. The excursion is usually combined with other places in the region and with multi-day tours.
The visit is mostly on foot over ancient paving and uneven surfaces. If you need less walking or fewer stairs, ask us before confirming the programme.
Walking through Ephesus reveals different layers of Anatolian history. The Library of Celsus, the great theatre, the marble streets, the fountains and the houses show the scale and sophistication of the ancient city.
The visit makes more sense when each monument is linked to daily life, trade and the religious changes in the region. Depending on the itinerary, it can be combined with the House of the Virgin Mary and other places nearby.
Turquiana includes Ephesus in private or small-group tours, usually together with Pamukkale and connections from Istanbul.
